itty bitty pirate series
because we all have a bit of pirate in us

these little guys are the newest members of the family. each miniature canvas is an original painting which is mounted on a colorful background paper then framed in a shadow box. i name each one after i paint them and i write their name on the back of the shadow box. of course you can always rename yours, but the red tape for that process is mind boggling!

each creation is a one-of-a-kind piece of art because each animal is painted individually...some are wearing a pirate hat, some have a peg leg, some are waving a sword or a flag and some have a hook...it all depends on my mood when i'm painting them. i choose a different background paper from my huge paper collection that compliments the painting which makes the piece a very unique, fun and affordable original work of art.

i use different mediums when creating my pirate friends. some are painted with acrylics, sometimes paint markers while others are created with permanent marker.

the shadow box frames come in two sizes (4"x6" or 5"x7") and two colors (black or white). i don't always have the two sizes or the two color choices available.

5"x7": $50

i will be adding different pieces in the future, such as a collection of 2 or 3 pirates in one 8"x10" shadow box. the itty bitty pirates are taking on a life of their own and i'm just following their lead.
